Jim Beatty
Senior Investment Strategist & Partner

Jim Beatty is a Senior Investment Strategist and one of the founding partners of SCS. Prior to establishing SCS, he was at Fortis Investors N.V. AMEV, which subsequently became Woodbury Financial Services, where he managed assets and designed and implemented corporate retirement strategies. Jim has extensive experience helping affluent families with wealth preservation and accumulation. He has appeared several times on public television programs to discuss investments and current economics.

Jim lives in Snoqualmie with his wife, Noelle, and their two children, Brandon and Marisa.

Jeffrey J. Hensler, SR. Investment Strategist & Partner

Jeff Hensler has been in the Financial Services Industry for over 20 years & is a founding partner at SCS. Jeff is a member of LPL’s Chairman’s Club & has been recognized in the top 5% of all 16,000 LPL advisors for multiple years, based on annual revenue. As partner to SCS, Jeff has continued to enhance the consistent growth of the firm while maintaining his commitment to service excellence. He strives to be both a valuable & knowledgeable resource to his clients, as well as his peers.

Jeff has a passion for giving back to the community and educating young adults about the Financial Services Industry. In 2017 Jeff developed the first, Certified Financial Planning college degree program in the PNW, at Central Washington University (CWU); his alma mater. Jeff was also recognized as CWU’s 2017 Alumni of the Year.

Jeff makes a priority of giving his time the community. He is Chair of the CWU Foundation and sits on Seattle Humane Society Finance & Audit Committee. He also volunteers his time at other nonprofit organizations throughout the PNW. Jeff resides in Roslyn, WA with his wife Weslie. He is an avid hiker and loves exploring the outdoors.

Griffin Smith, LPL Financial Advisor & Partner

Griffin Smith has been a Financial Advisor with SCS for 14 years. Griffin became partner of SCS in 2015 and focuses on relationships within the SCS Private Client Group. He has proven to be a great advocate for our clients and works directly with many of our small business owners and nonprofit organizations. He holds a series 7, 66, 6, and 63 licenses. He has been on the board of the Snohomish Community Foundation for the last three years, as well as serving on the board for Evergreen Treatment Services in Seattle. Griffin believes that forming relationships with clients and connecting resources he has developed over the years is one of the most valuable services he provides.

Griffin resides in Lake Stevens with his wife and enjoys golfing, snow skiing and fishing.

Bryan Kettel, CFP, CLU, ChFC Principal

Bryan Kettel is the founder of Strategic Planning Partners, bringing over 35 years of experience to this organization. His practice merged with SCS in 2017. His commitment to making a difference in people's lives inspired development of his strategic planning process and focused his practice on building genuine, long-term relationships with his clients, allowing him to understand their needs, goals and concerns. He started in financial services in 1992 after a 20-year career as a real estate entrepreneur working on high-profile residential and commercial projects. Putting 'lessons learned' from his extensive career to work, Bryan believes in educating his clients about their options and opportunities.

Bryan is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and has also earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Charted Life Underwriter (CLU) designations. He holds Securities Registrations: Series 7, 63, and 65 through LPL Financial. Bryan has been a frequent speaker and panelist at nationwide industry conferences. He's been interviewed by The New York Times, Wall Street Journal & The Seattle Times.

In spite of (or maybe because of) his hard earned credentials, Bryan is a low-key, easy-to-talk-to advisor. Think 'fly fisherman,' 'vocalist' and 'wine hobbyist' – and yes, 'avid golfer' – and you will have strong clues about his patience, his commitment to excellence, and his understanding of the satisfaction that comes from achieving ones' goals. A Washington native with roots in Eastern Washington, Bryan is married to Kathleen Horner, has two amazing children, and some pretty amazing culinary skills as well.

Tye Morgan joined SCS in 2017 bringing with him over 20 years of professional investment experience. Prior to joining SCS Mr. Morgan worked as an Advisor responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive asset allocation strategies. As an avid subscriber to global macroeconomic trends, Tye has demonstrated a strong conviction to the benefits of global diversification within the portfolio construction process. Investment education and disciplined asset management has always been the cornerstone of Mr. Morgan's practice. Working with clients to identify their primary goals – Tye commits himself to crafting strategies designed to help clients obtain desired outcomes, while building, managing and preserving their wealth for current and future generations. Additionally, Tye has been a keynote speaker at numerous investment seminars over the past 15 years.

Tye attended The University of San Diego and The University of Washington where he received a degree in Political Economy while playing Lacrosse. Mr. Morgan currently resides in Kirkland with his two daughters, CJ and Caylee. In his spare time, Tye devotes countless hours to local youth as a mentor and coach. In the winter you can find Tye and his girls skiing in mountains and in the summer water sports take precedent!

Mark Ghaly, CRPC® - Financial Consultant

Mark Ghaly brings tradition and true global financial experience to the team at SCS. Over the span of his career, he has lived and worked on three continents with top tier international trading companies. Mark has over twenty years of global risk management for Fortune 100 Corporations with bottom line responsibility and most recently spent 8 years as a financial advisor with a local investment firm.

He is a Traditional Value Wealth Manager with a conservative approach in building both tax-free income and rising income strategies for a comfortable retirement and has proven time and time again to be an excellent resource to his many clients over the years. Mark is both a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor CRPC® and an Accredited Asset Manager Specialist AAMS®.

He was selected as a Five Star Wealth Manager in Seattle three years in a row for 2007, 2008 & 2009 as published in Seattle Magazine. Mark is married, speaks three languages and has two children. He lives with his wife in Bellevue.

Lee J. Whittles, Financial Consultant & CFP®

Lee joined SCS in March of 2013, bringing with him robust financial consulting experience that began in 1987. Over the past 25 years he has had an opportunity to help hundreds of clients build their assets and protect their families through the use of investment planning and risk products. Feeling that education was a key ingredient to both success and service to his clients, he obtained his Chartered Life Underwriters designation as well as his Chartered Financial Consultants designation. Soon after, he became a CFP®. (Certified Financial Planner)

Much of Lee's practice has been spent helping businesses and professionals in some of the more technical areas of planning, such as estate planning, business succession planning and retirement planning; both qualified and non-qualified. He is excited to be a part of the SCS team and looks forward to expanding the investment side of his practice

Lee lives in Issaquah with his wife Ruth and two daughters, Ali and Ahna. He is a volunteer Ski Patrol at Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort outside of Wenatchee Washington and enjoys scuba diving in the summer.

Hunter Gietzen, Financial Advisor

Hunter Gietzen started in the financial services industry in early 2018. He studied Finance at Washington State University and has a passion for investing and finance. After school, Hunter joined Voya Financial as an independent advisor and spent a year there building his own book of business and learning as much as possible about how the industry operates. Using his knowledge, Hunter was able to make a very smooth transition to Sound Consulting Services and pick up right where he left off at Voya. In addition to his work with private clients, Hunter is also one of the main 401(k) Education Specialists for SCS. Hunter enjoys building real connections with his clients and feels that is one of the most important aspects of the client/advisor relationship. His service standards are very high and he makes sure he delves deeply into his clients' financial lives in order to develop efficient and prudent strategies. 

Outside of work, Hunter dedicates his time to the Mukilteo Kiwanis Club in an effort to give back to the community he grew up in. He enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, friends, family, and dog. He is also an avid WSU Cougars sports fan and wine enthusiast.

Kristal Klein, LPL Financial Advisor

Kristal Klein has been in the Financial Services industry since 2004 and brings a broad background to the SCS team. As an LPL Financial Advisor & Registered Administrative Associate, Kristal's focus is on client service and supporting the SCS team. Prior to joining SCS, Kristal gained industry experience through various roles in banking, investment research, client portfolio management, and most recently back office operations. Although her work responsibilities have changed over the years, a passion for client interaction and client service has remained consistent. Kristal received her Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Washington.

Originally from Eastern Washington, Kristal now resides in Issaquah and enjoys snowshoeing in the winter, hiking whenever the sun is out, and camping in the summer.

Brady Mcintyre, LPL Financial Advisor

Brady McIntyre joined the Wealth Management team at SCS in 2015 as an LPL Financial Advisor. Helping people, whether it's planning for retirement or college expenses, is Brady's passion. When meeting with a client, Brady takes to time necessary to define his clients' "big picture" financial situation, including income, debts, and goals. Doing so makes it possible to develop the appropriate asset allocation strategy and choose investments that are consistent with his clients' objectives and risk tolerance.

In addition to developing a custom financial strategy for each client, Brady enjoys hiking, mountain biking and skiing with his wife and dog.

Corey Dallas, Wealth Advisor Assistant

Corey Dallas is a Wealth Advisor Assistant who works alongside our SCS Financial Advisors. Corey’s main objective at SCS is to assist in analyzing portfolio performance through investment research. Corey attended Washington State University where he graduated with a degree in Social Science. After graduation he enrolled in Pacific Lutheran University and obtained his Masters in Finance.

Corey enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and watching sports.

Irene Clark, Accounts Manager

Irene Clark is the Accounts Manager at SCS, she's been in the financial industry for over 6 years helping to manage client assets and establish those building blocks to a strong and lasting relationship. Throughout her work history she's worn several different hats but the commitment to her clients has never swayed. She takes the time to understand our clients and their families, their goals, interests, and their best ways of communication for a customized service that works best for them. Irene looks to ensure that everything is done with the client's vision in-mind and make it as seamless as possible.

Irene resides in Monroe with her husband and dog, enjoys traveling, the warmer weather, new restaurants and activities.

Siri Dutro, Account Services Manager

Siri began working in the finance industry in 2009 when the youngest of her three children was in high school. Starting as a temp doing filing and sorting mail for a small broker dealer, she moved quickly into account services. After being hired full-time in 2010, she was responsible for coordinating direct mutual fund and annuity business and managing client data, and managing and training others in using back office software. She joined SCS in 2014, bringing this experience as well as skill in office management and client services. Her focus at SCS is to help the advisors foster and maintain deep and long-lasting relationships by bringing a high level of service to clients and their families.

A Washington native, Siri lives in Bellevue with her husband and cat, and enjoys spending time off with family at their cabin in the San Juan Islands.
